The WRDSB is one of the larger school boards in Ontario. We serve approximately 63,000 students in 120 schools in the Region of Waterloo. Our instruction is focused on developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide a solid foundation for living and learning.
We are proud of our staff and their commitment to the learning and development of our students. Many of our staff have been recognized locally, provincially and nationally as the best in their fields.

Our Mission describes the fundamental reason we exist and our over-arching goal:
- WRDSB prepares, challenges and inspires learners to be engaged, connected and contributing global citizens.
- Prepares, challenges and inspires indicates that the School Board sets the stage, provides the tools and motivates those who choose public education to achieve success within their learning program.
- Learners means all students, staff and community members with whom the Board interacts participate in and benefit from the rich learning environment and the joy of discovery and personal growth. The focus is on learning as a capacity we all share.
- Engaged, connected and contributing global citizens is the ultimate achievement learners strive for as participants in their communities throughout their lives.
